It's your life. Own it.

Small, achievable actions can help turn an intention into a practical next step.

Life is about seizing the moments. Carpe diem — seize the day. We often find ourselves not becoming the person we thought we would be. If you were honest with yourself, looked back five years and had a conversation with your past self, how would it go? Would you be happy? Have you surpassed expectations? Have you fallen short? Has nothing changed? What happened to those dreams — the passion, the determination, the sheer ambition?

That can be a lot to process, and it can be uncomfortable to think about. Maybe we need to have those uncomfortable conversations with ourselves — or the next five years could be more of the same.

We can make small, achievable steps each day to create the life we want. Something as small as doing the washing up the night before, packing our bag for the gym or writing a page of that book we have always dreamed of writing. If you make the task small enough, there is no reason you cannot do it.

Let’s stop kidding ourselves and take action. Maybe you need a little support in taking that first step, or it all feels too daunting. Reach out to a good friend, family member or a life coach. Start making that change in your life. Today could be the start of living the life you want to live.
