When work no longer feels like a good fit, it can be difficult to tell whether the answer is a new role, a different way of working, or simply a pause to take stock. Coaching offers room to sort through that question without being pushed towards a predetermined answer.
This may be useful when…
- Your work feels stuck, flat or out of step with what matters to you.
- You are weighing up a change but keep circling the same options.
- You want to prepare for a conversation or a practical next move with more confidence.
How coaching can help
We can explore what you value in work, notice the assumptions or practical barriers shaping your choices, and turn a broad concern into a manageable next step.
What coaching cannot do
Coaching does not replace specialist careers advice, recruitment support, legal advice or mental-health care. It is not a promise of a job offer, promotion or a particular outcome.
A practical, client-led process
Barney will use questions and reflection to help you separate what you know from what you are assuming. From there, you can choose a realistic action: perhaps mapping the parts of work that give or drain energy, speaking to someone you trust, or setting aside time to research one option.
One small next step
A useful first action might be to write down three moments in a typical week when work feels most worthwhile, and three when it feels least sustainable. The point is not to diagnose your career on paper; it is to begin noticing patterns.
